The Prime Farmers Association

An important component of Agricultural and Rural Development in Ewu, Edo State. We are an informal educational process focused on strengthening capacities, empowering rural people, and promoting innovations that will help them overcome challenges, take advantage of market opportunities to create wealth, and improve their livelihoods.

Our Vision

Our Goals & Objectives

  • To develop and promote agricultural extension and advisory services to have sufficient capacity to effectively support value chain actors towards increasing agricultural productivity, food security, and improved livelihoods in a sustainable manner for all Ewu, Edo State.

  • Bring together agricultural Advisory Service (AS) providers and stakeholders in Ewu, Nigeria to share experiences and lessons.

  • Promote the exchange of information on best global practices in agricultural extension and advisory services.

  • Actively interact with Agricultural Research, Technology Dissemination, and Adaptation Institutions for the development and dissemination of relevant and proven technologies.

  • Identify and exploit the opportunities for providing services in line with best global practices for both PFA providers and clients alike.

  • Regulate the activities of all Agricultural Extension and Advisory Service Providers, Individuals, Groups, Corporate, both Public and Private.

Our Vision

Annual Production Targets

As part of our commitment to proficient and sustainable agricultural production, the Prime Farmers' Association in Ewu, Edo State, has set ambitious targets to produce high-quality dry maize and grits for local consumption and export.

Production Goals

Produce **15,000 to 30,000 tons of dry maize** annually to enhance food security and provide quality feed for the livestock, poultry, and aquaculture sectors.

Quality Exports

Aim to produce high-quality **maize grit** for the production of beauty-enhancing and nutritious drinks for exportation, promoting economic growth.

Sustainable Agriculture

Promote environmentally friendly practices that conserve natural resources and minimize environmental degradation.

Economic Empowerment

Enhance the livelihoods of youths and citizens through sustainable agricultural practices and employment opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can become a member by visiting our contact page and expressing your interest. We have several membership tiers available: Ordinary, Life, Corporate, and Honorary. Our team will guide you through the registration process and fee payment.

The fees vary by membership type. An Ordinary membership is ₦5,000 per year, and a Corporate membership is ₦100,000 per year. A Life membership is a one-time payment of ₦50,000. Honorary memberships are conferred by invitation only and do not have a fee.

We organize a variety of activities including monthly workshops on modern farming techniques, annual agricultural fairs, networking events, and training sessions on financial management and market access. We also facilitate bulk purchasing of supplies.

Members get access to a strong support network, discounts on workshops, access to shared resources and equipment, and a unified voice in policy advocacy. We also help members connect with markets to sell their produce at better prices.

Our main office and meeting point is located at KM 90 Benin Auchi road, Eko Ewu, Edo State. This central location serves as a hub for our community activities and resource distribution.

Yes! Businesses, researchers, and organizations involved in the agricultural value chain can join as Corporate members. Individuals who have made significant contributions to agriculture may also be invited as Honorary members.
